Formation

Understanding the ratio of decay between two radioactive elements now allows for deeper research into what astronomical events created the heavy elements around and within us. Black holes, binary star stripping supernovas are likely candidates but each transforms nuclei differently so that we may soon understand which events and when they occurred to cause heavy element formation. Meteorites have pre-solar system time signatures of these events.
